During pregnancy, your body releases hormones which weaken your muscle and joint function. Optimal abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles function is key to ensuring your pregnancy is as comfortable as can be and also to enable you a healthy recovery after giving birth. Poor muscle function makes it incredibly difficult and painful to mobilise, can affect your mood, self esteem and sexual function.
