My 4th IBCLC recertification...as an IBCLC, we need to recertify every 5 years....I have attained my 4th recertification! What an achievement - am feeling so proud.
I know I might look young (LOL), but have been doing this IBCLC thing for 16 years now.... I have lost count of how many families I have helped through their early parenting journey. It truly is a blessing and dream I wanted to fulfil ever since being a little girl. I have always loved babies & mamas!
A huge shout out to my mentors Dr. Jenni James, Dagmar Voges & Johanna O'Keefe for being the best Midwife and IBCLC role models . Thank you to all of my other colleagues for banding together and supporting one another through our daily joys and frustrations working within such a challenging industry. I look forward to continuing to grow and learning with you personally and professionally.
An even bigger thank you to my wonderful husband, Neil - my sounding board (he knows more about what I do than me), my guiding light, my number 1 supporter - there is no way I could do this without you. Thank you an eternity for making sacrifices so that I can continue to do what I love. My fur babies, Frankie & Poppy, I love being home cuddling and loving you to help make up on lost time that I spend helping others. My family fills my heart with joy and pure love - the energy, I need to keep me going on!
And to the families I work with, I could not do this without you. Thank you for sharing the love, thank you for sharing with me your inner most vulnerabilities. Thank you sharing your frustrations and celebrating your joys. I love learning & experiencing more so that I can share & pass on the knowledge to others. Thanks to all of you that I work with, you inspire me each and every day....
Now does that sound like an awards speech????? Not one to stand on my own soapbox, but this time, I going to stand tall!
