This one is going to be a quick one...I just wanted to with you all a Very Happy New Year and that 2020 brings you all that you much happiness, strength, courage and determination to ride the ups and downs that every year brings us....
On a lighter note...here's one for the mum's!
Mama's, YOU ARE ALLOWED TO HAVE A DRINK TONIGHT!
So if you want to have a drink or two to celebrate, don't be shy!
1. BE SENSIBLE - make sure you get to tipsy only and are in full control of your senses making it safe for you and your baby!
2. NO NEED TO PUMP & DUMP - if you breastfeed your baby and have a drink afterwards, most of the alcohol will be out of your breastmilk for approximately 3 hours.
3. ENJOY AND HAVE A BLOODY GREAT NIGHT.....
Includes - glitter, horns, hats, wigs, streamers, music, dancing and plenty of laughing!
4. ITS NOT A GREAT IDEA TO CO-SLEEP IF YOU OR YOUR OTHER BED SHARERS HAVE DRUNK TONIGHT!
DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE "FEED SAFE" APP?
By simply adding your height, weight & drinks consumed, you can safely keep track of your alcohol intake and minimise the amount of breastmilk transfer to your baby whilst breastfeeding....How's that for peace of mind?
The app was developed by the Australian Breastfeeding Association and Dr. Roslyn Giglia, a breastfeeding researcher at Curtin University, Western Australia. The app is based on the brochure Alcohol and breastfeeding: A guide for mothers developed by the Australian Breastfeeding Association and Dr. Roslyn Giglia in 2011.
These guidelines are those we use when providing information about alcohol intake to breastfeeding mums and it's how we know about how alcohol flows in and out of your breastmilk!!!
LOOK FORWARD TO POSTING MORE IN 2020!
HAVE A FAB NITE!
