Did you know, that when children turn 2, its the perfect time to start visiting the dentist? But if you haven't yet, don't put it off for too much longer!
In Victoria, Australia - we have a bulk-billing dental scheme for children aged 2-17. This means that most dental services for children are at no cost. To find out more, click on the link below! https://www.dhsv.org.au/public-dental-services/childdental?utm_source=public_website&utm_medium=home_page_banner&utm_campaign=cdbs I know when I was a child, I was absolutely petrified of the dentist - and to be honest, I still hate going to the dentist! I remember the dental school van coming to our school to pick us out to go for dental treatment. This always used to be associated with other kids scaring the bejeezus out of me by telling me all these horror stories about sitting in the dentist chair - I'm sure a lot of us can relate! When you visit your dentist for a regular 6 monthly dental check, it prevents further problems down the track. This is no different for kids as well. It is important that when you go for your dental check, bring your child too - that way they see it as a positive experience and won't be petrified of going to the dentist. Dental health is one of the most important preventative health care measures. Not only does it ensure we have healthy teeth, but helps to prevent heart infections (endocarditis) and emotional/social issues such as shyness from stinky breath and yucky teeth!
