You will receive an appointment confirmation email outlining all you need to know about your appointment.
This email will also have some links to some pre-attendance Online Intake & Consent forms

We ask that you complete these forms within 24-48 hours of your appointment
DURING OUR APPOINTMENT Getting to know you & your family Firstly, I will need to get to know you. I will ask you to complete an intake & consent form - this is so that you're fully involved in understanding what is involved in our consultation, what our professional boundaries are & you can also let us know what kind of treatment you are & are not comfortable with.
Who are the members of your family? What kind of support do you have? - I need to know this so that we can begin to customise your care. I will also need to know who your GP, Maternal & Child Health Nurse are for example as I may need to liase with them in order to ensure that you receive the best support you deserve.
Getting to know your concerns & consultation goals I will also listen to what YOUR sleep & settling concerns are. We will also discuss what your consultation goals are, so that we can personalise your needs. Your child is a part of your family dynamic & intimately connected to you.
This involves asking questions about your pregnancy, birth, postnatal history, family, medical & feeding history. I will also ask you about your child's health & wellbeing, as well as their feeding, eating & routine habits.
Physical assessments involve a cranial, musculoskeletal, neurological, oral & oral motor function assessments to assess for any variants which may be impacting on your baby's ability to feed & settle effectively.
I will involve you in these assessments & point out any variations identified & inform you of how these potentially impact the concerns you have about your child's ability to sleep & self settle.
Assessing your Child's Sleep Habits, environment & Your Settling Methods If attending our clinic for consultation, I will ask you about your child's sleep habits and methods that you use to settle your child. It can be helpful if you bring along a recording on your phone demonstrating any of the relevant concerns you have for your child.
If I am visiting you at home, we will have the opportunity to assess your child's sleeping environment as well as a sleep cycle to provide you direct hands on support & guidance, using customised gentle sleep & settling strategies. Following this, we will:
Debrief on what has occurred during my assessments
Address any questions you may have
I will provide you the education & information that you need
Creating your holistic sleep plan Together, we will make a holistic plan, which is orientated towards helping you achieve your goals. You will be provided a copy of this. Your plan will include the personalised gentle sleep & settling techniques & tips to improve your child's sleep & settling.
If needed, we can arrange a review consultation to enable you some time to put your plan in action & then reassess the progress of your plan. where we can make adjustments as necessary or go over a few things that you still need practicing with. This can occur within the context of the clinic or within your home.
Holistic care ensures that all family members, their environment and individual circumstances are taken into consideration. No family is the same & we do not believe in a "one size fits all" approach.
Individual family needs, goals, the child's temperament & current circumstances need to be taken into consideration to ensure we get the best results possible.
If I were to fit my approaches into two words, it would be "Responsive Settling" whereby I am gently respecting the child's individual needs & that of his or her family.
In customising methods according to the child's needs & temperament. I also encourage families to observe their own needs & self care.
